To download and use the Loader software“eMEdit” First download “Setup.zip” Download the new operating software for your machine and put it in the C:\EMTECH\Data folder created by setup.exe Download the new settings for your machine and put them in the same folder Connect the receiver to the PC using a “Null Modem Cable” these have the following wiring configuration 1-1 2-3 3-2 4-6 5-5 6-4 7-8 8-7 9-9 Start eMEdit from the desktop Icon BEFORE YOU START TO USE EMEDIT TO DOWNLOAD NEW SOFTWARE TO THE STB (Set Top Box) IT’S WISE TO SAVE YOUR CURRENT OPERATING SOFTWARE AND CHANNEL DATA THIS MAKES GOOD SENSE IN CASE THE NEW SOFTWARE AND SETTINGS ARE CORRUPTED TO DO THIS YOU MUST DO AN “UPLOAD” FROM THE RECEIVER Proceed as follows:- With the receiver connected to a TV go to Menu Installation Transfer Data On the receiver Now – Transfer main software -> now "Select Type" the "main SW/Channel Data Upload" - now click START on the STB Manger software Then – Transfer Channel Data – as above, you decide on the name you give these bin files but we recommend a similar format to the format used by us To download new software with the receiver power off start eMEdit from the icon created on your desktop in C:\EMTECH\Data folder you should have Your_existing_opertating_software_backup.bin Your_Old_Settings.bin New_Opertating_software.bin New_Settings.bin The new operating software may look something like this S000d519-100-211.bin The new settings 2ci20-020103.bin (version of machine followed by year,month,day) Use your mouse to click on the Operating software for your machine the Start button will turn from Light to Dark as you do this
Click Start and power on the STB (Set Top Box) if you have the STB connected to a TV by Scart lead, Then when you do this you will see a progress screen with information about the old software and the new software However, you do not need to connect to a TV in order for this upgrade to work Since the front display indicates whats happening too and when the software is correctly loaded the word “FINE” will appear in the front display Now unplug and do as above for the channel settings (note: channel settings can’t be loaded if the operating software is not uploaded first) As before once the settings are loaded the word “Fine” will appear in the display |
